CHALLENGE

The existing situation had individuals working off pallet racking and out of boxes.  Issuing product was a very time-consuming process, and furthermore, product was getting damaged, lost, or stolen. The area was cramped and poorly lit. The client required two separate areas for issuing equipment to students: one ventilated, one not. These areas needed to be secure to provide product accountability, but also had to allow space in which to work.

SOLUTION

PeakLogix recommended for each area a shelf-supported mezzanine with 48”x36”, 18”x36”, and 24”x48” shelving. One area had solid shelving and a closed back and sides, while the other was constructed of wire. Each included a lockable wire cage with separate keys for security, and the two areas were made secure with separate mezzanine entrances. New lighting was also recommended, with wire guards to eliminate damage and hazards.

RESULTS

The shelf-supported mezzanine was installed, tripling the usable space. Shelving below the mezzanine provides better visibility, accountability, and security. The client now has secure space for overflow and room to grow.

SPECS

·  7’ tall solid and wire shelving were requested: one area required ventilation; the other did not.

·  Each area needed to be separate and secure from the other.
