PeakLogix celebrates its commitment to community by spending the summer serving others. As a corporate volunteer sponsor, PeakLogix assisted Shalom Farms in Midlothian, Va., and extended its service reach to Uganda through a staffer’s mission trip.

A group of volunteers from PeakLogix donated their time to help Shalom Farms, a 12-acre sustainable farm in Midlothian, Va., that works with local communities to ensure access to healthy food. The team spent its time at Shalom Farms harvesting, weeding and preparing the field for planting, along with sorting and packing harvested vegetables for distribution to the community.

Across the globe, Jake Evans, Systems Engineer with PeakLogix, helped various communities in Uganda during a 12-day mission trip. Evans and his group spent time with the teachers and students of a primary school sharing life experiences, supported local shops through craft training and production, assisted with community beautification programs, and volunteered with sports programs bringing donated equipment to local children.

“The trip to Uganda was one of the more rewarding experiences of my life,” said Evans. “Seeing how communities in another part of the world engage with one another and to see the entire community thrive was inspiring. I was honored to contribute to their community efforts.”

“Community has been part of our company values since we started nearly 30 years ago, and this summer has been very rewarding,” said Bob Giberson, Principal at PeakLogix. “From being a part of something that provides so many people with fresh food locally to helping communities across the globe, I couldn’t be more proud of our team and their commitment to contributing to others.”

PeakLogix plans to continue its community throughout the year. As it celebrates its 30th anniversary next year, the local material handling company will continue its support of various local and national organizations. Each year, the company chooses one or more organizations to donate to each holiday with past recipients including Veterans charities, Feed More, Backpacks of Love, Donors Choose, Make-A-Wish, and Samaritan’s Purse, among others.
