We thought you might like to know about the generous employees of PeakLogix who came together and contributed 58 pairs of used shoes to donate to help benefit a metro Richmond family.

They are in the process of adopting a 16 yr. old boy from Ukraine, who they hosted through New Horizons orphan hosting program, and whom they absolutely fell in love with.

The cost of the adoption is $42,490.  As you can image, the adoptive family has been doing quite a bit of fundraising in an attempt to help offset these costs.  One of organizations they found (a great group started by the guy who began soles4soles) has agreed to pay them $3,000 toward their adoption if they can fill 300 bags with 25 pairs of shoes!  The used shoes (no matter HOW OLD or beat down, no matter what kind – sandals, cleats, tennis shoes, whatever) are then distributed to poorer countries and used to bless the folks there; both by providing shoes as well as jobs, since the shoes will be restored before they are distributed.

PeakLogix loves to rally around a good cause and this instance is no exception.
