INCREASE INVENTORY CAPACITY

InterBake Foods needed an efficient, cost effective layout for warehousing of finished goods and storage of raw materials at their Front Royal Manufacturing and Distribution Facility.

SOLUTION:

PeakLogix designed a layout consisting of 18 “banks” of 5-deep, back-to-back drive-in racking for warehousing of finished goods. Each “bank” contained 32 5-deep lanes of drive-in racking four levels high. In addition to the drive-in racking, back-to-back rows of 96’’ wide selective racking for raw material storage were included near the receiving docks. Also, 118’’ wide selective racking was incorporated along the perimeter of the building for miscellaneous storage.

RESULTS:

InterBake Foods now has a combination of 5-deep drive-in racking and single deep selective racking to meet their current storage needs and to accommodate future growth and allowing two facilities to be consolidated into one.

SPECS:
  • 156,600 square feet of space available within the facility.
  • 576 lanes of 4 high, 5 deep drive-in racks were installed, with total pallet storage capacity of 11,520.
  • 291 bays of selective pallet racking for raw material storage were installed.
